View 1 View 2 View 3 View 4 The photographs were taken at Tampere on September 10th. Today was once again a rainy day, but I didn't get wet while commuting by bicycle. There are a lot of wet fallen leaves on the road, making it slippery when braking. The commute takes now 50 minutes, but in the summer it took only 40 minutes when the conditions were optimal. Kuumaa villaa -

Wanderlust -

This is Qeparo Fshat, the village that was home for us for more than a week. For a hundred of us, who hitchhiked their way from different sides of Europe. Qeparo is in Southern Albania, a coast full of beach umbrellas, unfinished houses and tourism promises. However just a rough… Read the post Watermelons, olive trees and hugs. Albania again.

Catariinan väkerryksiä -

Syksyllä huomasit tarvitsevani uuden hillitymmän värisen kuin punaisen kaulahuivin. Aikani Ravelryä selattuani pädyin Waterfall-kaulahuiviin. Huivi on kudottu Novitan Alpaca langasta.

Ditch 1 Ditch 2 The photographs were taken on January 7th. I have been thinking about baby-carrot fingers once again. It is embarrassing how the US seems to be on the verge of losing all goodwill, due to insulting everyone. Soon there is nobody left to insult. Except perhaps the E.T.? "I'm the greatest, you are nothing! BAD! SAD!" (Posting title is from the poem Protest by Ella Wheeler Wilcox.) Posted by Juha Haataja at http://lightscrape.blogspot.com/

Water 1 Water 2 The photographs were taken on November 25th. Autumn and early winter have been wet, with plenty of rain and snow that has melted into puddles. Today and tomorrow the weather is dry and the temperature blow 0 °C according to the forecast, but then it will warm up again, with some rain. The white surface of snow and the warming rays of the sun of early spring accompany the buoyant fisherman while he expects the fish to bite the bait. Pulling nourishment thru the ice is not the main motivation anymore, but relaxation, sense of peace and physically experiencing the arriving summer are the factors driving people to gather around holes in the ice. This winter ice covered waters also

Snow 1 Snow 2 The photographs were taken in Meiko on February 25th. In six days I have got 11 hours of exercise, half riding the bicycle and half walking. Spring is coming. This morning I listened to a lark singing while I was walking across fields. (Posting title is from the poem Los Angeles by Ben Fama.) Posted by Juha Haataja at http://lightscrape.blogspot.com/

Reflect The photograph was taken on February 18th. So far this year I have got 1,020 km riding the bicycle. I haven't had any punctures with the Schwalbe Marathon Winter tires, which is great. For summer I have Marathon Plus tires, and they have also worked fine with no punctures. I changed my mobile phone this week. I had a Nokia E7 phone for over five years, but it started to show all kinds of problems. Now I have an iPhone SE, which was quite easy to start using, but I have a lot of things...

The source of happiness and peace is often found between trees and water, the two archetypal Finnish elements. However, sometimes trees on both sides and water underneath just don't do it, but the solution might be found where there is no trees at all.For a Finn, the Central Park of New York is really an oasis in the middle of busy city life and noise. It seems, however, to find the true peace

Finns are surrounded by water, in seas and lakes. Mostly water has a calming effect, but sometimes it can be a bit scary as well. This aattu.tv special takes us on an ambient journey to Leppävesi lake and Saunalahti bay accompanied by Karoliina Salminen's music. We participated Metafest - Metacafe’s Short Film Festival 2008 with our aattu.tv special episode from last year. Delft Daily Photo -

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny weather and so we decided to take a little walk outside the city center of Delft. Here's what we saw: Delftse blauw mosaic. And someone thought to be funny. It's Kanaalweg (Canalstreet) rather than "analstreet". Waterboats are back! It's official, spring is here! Where are we, in Mexico? Flowers blossoming! Water sparkling! Careful now. The view from a distance. The church tower faaar away is the Old Church . Kwik-e-mart. Going to a tunnel. Flood of light...

These views are especially stunning when enjoyed in high definition. Also Karoliina's music requires good stereo sound reproduction to reveal all its

Snow 1 Snow 2 The photographs were taken on December 2nd. I got this week 14 hours of exercise, all of it walking. The average about of exercise is about 11 hours per week, of which almost 2/3 riding the bicycle. Getting 570 hours of exercise in a year is not bad. Tomorrow I believe there will be snow shoveling in the program, at least the weather forecast promises a couple of cm of snow. (Posting title is from the poem Eugenia Todd by Edgar Lee Masters.) View 1 View 2 The photographs were taken on October 15th. I commuted by bicycle on four days this week, and got eight hours of exercise. The weather has been dry. I have been riding the bicycle through the central park in Helsinki, as the paths are no longer so muddy. I met a horse this morning, which was a nice start for the day.
