Poker Wits -

Rake. Something no Poker Player can avoid, at least when playing for real money and playing at non-home game. So it is in order you know all about it, if you don't already. Rakeback is the opportunity so many decide not to tell new players. Instead these people and sites go for personal gain and leave the innocent new player unaware he/she has just lost thousands of dollars of potential gain over time. Unfortunately, the same goes for the "refer-a-friend" services which don't do you or your...

Niin kaukana, mutta niin...kaukana. -

And they feed on insecurities I have. I'm haunted by your ancient history,  close these green eyes and watch over as I sleep through my darkest of dreams.  Be the power to compel me, hold me closer than anyone before. (Bastille - Send Them Off!) She asked to see me this evening , sanoo Tanskis Facessa.

My heart is having trouble with the beat, so try to take it slow. Like water torture, you get in my head. (The Fray - Sing Low) Olipa yllättävää, että sekoilin ihan jotenkin urakalla Tanskiksen aiheuttaman päänsisäisen hämmennykseni johdosta.

Indian Moon -

Getting Things Done (GTD) is a systematic way to maintain to-do lists and to bring clarity to work. The system was first described in David Allen's book and it enjoys legendary reputation in self-help circles. The difference between Indian and Finnish work culture crystallizes in GTD, so I'll describe it in detail. Basics Suppose you need a doghouse to your summer cottage. You write a to-do list about things to remember next weekend when going to there: ... Doghouse ... GTD has some simple...

He was glad that he could not see the dead face. He wondered what the man's name was and where he came from; and if he was really evil of heart, or what lies or threats had led him on the long march from his home; and if he would not really rather have stayed there in peace - all in a flash of thought that was quickly driven from his mind. - The Lord of the Rings, book IV, chapter IV The July announcement of a new deluxe expansion took us completely by surprise. Although undeniably logical as a...

I am an individual human being and I make my own choices. I might choose to express myself in a way you wouldn't - I might have negative feelings about things you love. I am not standing in the way of your love, and my opinion is not here to de-value your love. I am only expressing myself, from behind a table in a cafe in Finland, and damn I was anxious to be there! If that reeks of self-importance to you, then what about telling me to let go of 'the extras' in my personality, to 'be an...

Starbirds, perhaps -

What is your name? My name? I'm Minea Lintunen. And yes, I know what the surname means. 'Little bird.' Look at me! Do you see anything little about me? No, I don't. So you're not little. What are you, physically? I'm large. I'm huge. Oh, not fat, not that. I'm tall. I'm broad. I got muscles. The guy who said women can't grow enormous muscles by exercising was dead wrong. But your muscles are not that big. Oh yeah? Look at these damned biceps ! They're impressive. But I've seen bigger, you know...

Musta aurinko -

All through my life, one of the very common philosophical and/or religious questions that keeps repeating itself is that of fate. Lately I've been thinking about it, so I thought I'd write down a thought or two. The general idea of fate is that people believe that all or part of the events in our lives are preordained , or determined to happen beforehand, and that the choices we make in some of the crossroads of our lives are in fact so far away from random that they are the only possible ones...

This is a dangerous topic. Say anything non-conformant about feminism and you'll be labelled a chauvinist. Therefore I feel the need to start with a disclaimer: For the record, without any reservation, I support equal opportunities and equal compensation for equal efforts. Recently, I had a Heureka-moment related to the concept of "pink-collar occupations", or in Finnish, "naisvaltaiset alat", or simply, occupations where women are in a majority. The idea I had is to replace gender-words with...

Verkossa on monta sivustoa, joissa on kerättynä hyviä arkifraaseja. Tässä yksi. Alla on läksy luettavaksi. Täällä ovat englanninkieliset ja täällä suomenkieliset fraasit. Ne voi kummatkin asettaa rivinarpojaan erikseen ja kuulustella itseltä tai toisilta niitä. Täällä on samasta sivusta tehty Quiszlet . Suomenkielisen välimerkki on sama kuin englanninkielisen, muuten esim. Speller takertuu siihen ja opettaa. Quizletissä on korjaukset, ei allaolevassa. Terve Hi! Hyvää...

Elämän helmiä -

It's easy for us as writers to get into a rut with our writing. Even if we're still writing fairly prolifically, sometimes it feels like we've become some kind of factory line conveyor belt, churning out near identical copies of the same pieces of writing. Now because you're a highly creative and imaginative person and not a factory robot, you need more stimulation, more variation. Volume is not enough, it's also important to have the variety. Also, as someone creative, you're keen to...

"Muotibloggailu" jatkuu.. Tutustuin taannoin ystävän vinkistä ruotsalais-merkkiin nimeltä Lena Quist . Suunnittelija tekee spandexista aivan uskomattomia housuja, mekkoja ja korsetteja. Lähes kaikki vaatteet tehdään asiakkaan mittojen mukaan, joten istuvuus on saletisti täydellinen. Suunnitelijan omilla sivuilla vaatteita kuvaillaan näin: Lena Quist is the rockstar designer from Sweden who's really living the myth of sex, drugs and rock' n' roll. The brand was established in 2006, right...

As most of us law-obeying citizens I know and even understand the need and the reasons for us to pay taxes. However, every time I have to pay them I feel sick. Don't you? So when I stumbled over a splash-page (the picture below - who made it, I unfortunately do not know) that told me that IRS will be getting information directly from PayPal I felt a cold chill going down my spine. And for the first time in a long time feel really lucky. Why? Oh, for once I am not pissed anymore because PayPal...

What a surprise I had today when I visited our neighbourhood department store. The good people at Stockmann had decided to put together a New York theme. In their own sweet words: New York arrives at Stockmann on 5 September. Latest fashion trends and ideas for your home. A lot to see, hear and taste. Taste the City! Flavours and aromas of New York in all the Delicagtessen (sic!) departments from 5 September. So, I immediately rushed to the aforementioned Delicagtessen department and look what...

Other side of the globe -

We took a morning ferry to Phi Phi island and wished to find some accomodation. It was a peak-season and we had heard that pretty much all the accomodation is full. Luckily we arrived there in the morning and found great room from Ton Sai at a guesthouse called P.P.Dreams. On our way to Phi Phi we met a German guy Stefan who also got a room from the same house. Later we saw people wondering around with their backpacks on. Poor guys had taken the afternoon ferry and couldn't find accomodation...

(Subject: Travel stories III: Edinburgh continued (some light reading for you for the rainy days...)) X)It always rains. I read in the papers that this June was the rainiest here for decades - but I can't really say I was surprised; I seem to bring the rain with me. The October I lived here was also the wettest in Scotland for more than 30 years... On the other hand, during the twelve months I lived here, I also experienced the hottest day in the UK ever since the records began. Anyway, it...

Otin tän Maijalta :3 YOU'RE ON MY FRIENDS LIST, I want to know 36 things about you. I don't care if we never talk, or if we already know everything about each other. Short and sweet is fine. You're on my list, so I want to know you better! 1) Are you currently in a serious relationship? 2) What was your dream growing up? 3) What talent do you wish you had? 4) If I were to buy you a drink, what would it be? 5) Favourite vegetable? 6) What was the last book you read? 7) Which zodiac sign are...

The world's smartest pommidget talks Jewish treehouses, terrible tattoos and putting toddlers in the freezer On the way to see Joanna Angel get fucked in the ass on the set of her newest film, Joanna's Angels 2, I was accosted and searched by two policemen on a sidewalk in Brooklyn. They said they noticed something hooked to my pants pocket they believed was a knife. I laughed in their stupid cop faces and lifted my jacket to reveal I had two pens clipped to my pocket. "They're pens," I said...

Felix Vicious took her name from Felix the Cat and Sid Vicious, she also withstood six hours of anal sex, and isn't sure if she wants to be a marine biologist, massage therapist or a gynaecologist; which to me makes her awesome. Sometimes I like to think, 'Man, I wish I was a cowboy. Or a race car driver.' I like to imagine how different my life would be. How I could lasso my wife when she tries to run away or how fast I could drive to the supermarket if I had the right ride. But in my world...

Looking around here you'd think Sure, she's got everything But who cares? No big deal I want more I wanna be where the people are I wanna see Wanna see 'em dancing Up where they walk Up where they run Up where they stay all day in the sun Wandering free Wish I could be Part of that world What would I give If I could live Out of these waters? What would I pay To spend a day Warm on the sand? And ready to know what the people know Ask 'em my questions and get some answers What's a fire and why...

– Good morning Premdipa! – Good morning. – How are you? – I’m okay, thanks. – What have you been up to? – Well I’ve spent some time with mum. Yesterday we visited my brother. It was great, I was really juiced up after hanging out with my goddaughter, chatting with my sister-in-law and sharing with my brother. And I’ve been connecting with friends a lot via skype and facebook. – But…? – But what? – Do I hear a but there? – Well yeah, maybe. – What’s up? – I...

The author and sexpert talks porno-punching, shagging the sleepy, and anal-fisting workshops Eight years ago I was sent sex expert Tristan Taormino's book, The Ultimate Guide To Anal Sex For Women, and I fell in love with it. I've left it out on every coffee table I've owned since. I'm enthralled by the act of anal sex, the thought that for so long it was the last frontier of the human body, the dirty secret no-one spoke of. The fact Tristan was so knowledgeable about the topic, and heralded it...

Fiend without a face -

I've been lucky enough to visit a lot of amazing places in the past couple of months. Some of them I had known about and planned to visit for a long time; others I accidentally stumbled into, or - more often - followed  a friend with more knowledge than I did.  Plitvice though was a bit different. I had actually seen photos of the lakes, in northern Croatia, several years ago. Pictures of the layers of green-blue lakes tumbling into each other tend to feature on lists like '1000 Places to Go...

Laura's Wonderland -

As I first arrived here, I couldn't find any differencies between Finland and England. Now that I have spent here almost two months I begin to see just how my two countries differ from each other. It's all the small things that you take for granted. The standard of living here in England is quite different from which I have accustomed to growing up in Finland. Carpeting and separate faucets for hot and cold water were practically unknown to me before I set my foot on this land. Heating and...

Memoirs of a gaijin -

I'm back home. The eagle has landed and Elvis left the building and all that. Yeah, I'm pretty bummed out. It's cold and it rains and I feel like I fell on absolutely nothing. It's probably partly due to the culture shock, but knowing that doesn't really help much. But yeah, less moping, more Tokyo. I had a few locks in my travel plan, which made being flexible a bit harder. The first one was Hiroshima on the 6th (to take part in the memorial ceremony) and the second was Harajuku on a sunday...
