View 1 View 2 View 3 The photographs were taken on October 11th in Helsinki. This morning there was a little bit of black ice on the road when I commuted by bicycle, so it was nice to have studded winter tires. In the afternoon I had heavy headwind, up to 14 m/s, so it was slow riding, and it took almost an hour to get home. People close to Donald Trump are getting indicted. A nice start for the week. Street The photograph was taken on October 7th in Petikko. This morning the temperature was -4 °C when I started the bicycle commute. In the afternoon we had 3 °C. For Thursday the weather forecast promises 10 cm of snow, so the landscape will change. (Posting title is from A Pillow Book: "A Great Book can be read again and again..." by Suzanne Buffam.) View 1 View 2 The photographs were taken at Tampere on September 10th. It rained also today, but in the morning there was a break in the rain when I commuted by bicycle, and in the afternoon even the sun appeared. I need to do some repairs to the bicycle quite soon, but it should last two weeks, until I have some vacation days. (Posting title is from the song City Lights by Blanche.) Street 1 Street 2 The photographs were taken on December 27th. This morning I walked 1 1/2 hours, going to the post office to fetch a package containing winter gloves for riding the bicycle. The "lobster style" gloves (aka three-finger gloves) were size XXL, and my hands did fit inside, but just barely, there wasn't much extra room. This was as I expected, there never seem to be large enough gloves. I do envy one thing about Donald Trump: his small hands. (Posting title is from the poem Taking...

The post Street Style from...

Francesca Moschetta | @francesca_m17 Reissuissa yksi parhaista jutuista on kyllä katumuodin ikuistaminen. I just love shooting street style […] The post Street Style from Milan appeared first on...

Bye, babe! Neil sanoi hyvästiksi.   In San Francisco there were a lot of people, also a lot of...

Olin luvannut teille Pariisista katumuodin […] The post Street Style from Paris appeared first on Alexa Dagmar .

@wethepeoplestyle @andreahegard @tania.fdz @matildamoreliuss @Liselcain @Emmafiorini @tobimakeup @alessandraairo Tässä tällä kertaa katumuotia Pariisista!

View 1 View 2 The photographs were taken in Petikko on November 18th. I got this year 6,204 km riding the bicycle, which is 300 km less than in 2016, but my second best year nevertheless. View The photograph was taken in Helsinki on November 1st. I commuted by bicycle today. In the morning there was strong headwind, and in the afternoon backwind. While commuting home it rained the half of the way, and then it started snowing. So far this year I have got 5,937 km of riding the bicycle. Hello! Now it's been a serious while since the last post, but I'm back baby! Enough about me, here are some photos for you: yes, that's me. Love, from Jyvaskyla, Finland

Lights 1 Lights 2 The photographs were taken on December 29th, 2017. This morning I walked for almost two hours, starting well before sunrise. Because of snow it wasn't dark, and the cold weather (-13 °C) had frozen the paths. It seems that we will have cold and dry weather for a while, for a week at least. That is good. Figure The photograph was taken on June 3rd. My seven year old Macbook got broken while traveling, it doesn't start up any more. I guess it got one bump too many. I'm pondering whether I need a laptop, or can I survive with the iMac and an iPhone/iPad. This remains to be seen. I lost some files as well, mostly related to my book-review blog. Perhaps it is not a big problem to forget about a few dozen books I have read but not yet written about. (Posting title is from the poem Roadblock by...

View 1 View 2 The photographs were taken in Helsinki on February 26th. This morning I walked for 2 hours 20 minutes around lake Meiko, visiting lake Vaipo and lake Vitträsk as well. In many places the frozen snow carried a person walking. I walked through the open swamp Slätmossen. On the Meiko lake there were people skiing and ice-fishing, but otherwise it was very quiet. Street The photograph was taken on October 20th in Petikko. Today is a rainy day. In the morning I looked at the weather radar, and it seemed that the rain would be a little bit easier for an hour or so, so I went for a walk, and got quite soaked. The swamps and ditches are flooding, and water level is high in the lakes. I need to do some repairs to the bicycle. The front tire is leaking air pressure, and I need to replace the inner tube. I'm using Marathon Winter tires, which have puncture...

Whoops, long time no posts. Well here’s a quick catch-up from various places during May – August 2017. No particular theme in here, just bunch of things.

Street 1 Street 2 Street 3 The photographs were taken in Helsinki on May 28th. Today we walked up and down Sallatunturi hills. It was sunny and warm, 20 °C, and there was a little bit of wind on top of the hills to cool down. It is early summer (or late spring) in Lapland, and there are no biting mosquitoes yet, so it is a pleasure to walk in a t-shirt. Window 1 Window 2 The photographs were taken in Helsinki on May 28th. This week I have got 14 hours of exercise, of which almost 10 hours walking up and down hills in Lapland. London 1 London 2 London 3 The photographs were taken on July 29th in London. I felt bad today, due to nasty (and racist) Finnish men making threats towards brilliant women on Twitter and Facebook. To cope with my rotten feelings, I made a donation to the Disaster Relief Fund of the Finnish Red Cross. Afterwards I realized it is two months since I last donated my daily wage to the Red Cross. The June donation was inspired by racists as well. (Posting title is from the song Total Eclipse of the...
