Lily, who writes  Lily's Quilts  blog, made a quilt from  Penguin books . And now, I have to start...

Blue 1 Blue 2 The photographs were taken at Kytäjä-Usmi outdoor are in Hyvinkää on December 28th. The weather forecast promises 20 cm of snow for tomorrow. Traffic conditions won't be great. I'm planning to commute by car and train instead of bicycle. (Posting title is from the poem Portrait of a Figure near Water by Jane Kenyon.) Snow is melting by the roadside, and melt water is freezing on the road making it slippery. (Posting title is from the song Dance You Off by Benjamin Ingrosso.) View 1 View 2 The photographs were taken at Velskola on February 21st. This morning I went for a walk in the north parts of Sipoonkorpi national park. The snow was frozen, but didn't carry a person walking, except in places where there were ski tracks or tracks from animals. I managed to get a bit lost, which was great, and found plenty of new sights. (Posting title is from the poem History of My Heart by Robert Pinsky.) Lake 1 Lake 2 Lake 3 The photographs were taken by lake Suolijärvi at Kytäjä-Usmi outdoor are in Hyvinkää on December 28th, 2017. We got plenty of snow today. Commuting by train went well, but because of the snow it took some effort to get the car moving from the parking place at the station. The weather station at Helsinki-Vantaa airport got crazy, claiming the the depth of snow is 54 cm when yesterday it was 6 cm. I think the actual depth of snow is 30-35 cm. Dead flowers under the snow. (Tampere Dec. 2010.) Valokuvatorstain 155. haaste on lumi . Lumi peittelee luonnon nukkumaan, valkaisee maiseman tasaiseksi, peittää värit, hautaa unohtuneet esineet, yltää parvekkeellekin, piilottamaan unohtuneet, rapistuneet, kuolleet kesän kukat.

Fallen 1 Fallen 2 The photographs were taken at Kytäjä-Usmi outdoor are in Hyvinkää on December 28th. I commuted by bicycle today. There was snow and ice on the road, but it was not bad with the studded winter tires. The depth of snow is now 5 cm, so the landscape looks like winter. View 1 View 2 The photographs were taken at Vaakkoi on March 24th. This morning I walked for two hours, exploring the swamps and forests at Tremanskärr. It has been over five months since I last walked there, and I had forgotten some things about the landscape. During the night the temperature dropped below freezing, and snow carried a person walking in most places. One had to be careful, though, because there were deep pockets of water in some places below the snow. (Posting title is from the...

View The photograph was taken at Soidinsuo swamp in Nuuksio on April 1st. This week I have commuted through the central park in Helsinki. I had forgotten how good it feels. And today I met horses both in the morning and afternoon while riding the bicycle. During the winter one needs to go through crowded streets and stop at traffic lights in Pasila. Also, I realized today that this winter I didn't crash while riding the bicycle in slippery conditions. I installed studded winter tires quite...

Kytäjä 1 Kytäjä 2 The photographs were taken at Kytäjä-Usmi outdoor are in Hyvinkää on December 28th, 2017. I commuted by bicycle on only two days this week. There was ice on the road, and heavy headwind when riding back home from work. So far this year I have got 909 km riding the bicycle. The brake pads are wearing out fast during winter. Today I installed new pads both in front and back, and I expect that I need to replace them within three weeks or so. (Posting title is from the poem The...

Damn I don't know!
