The Freelancer's Fashionblog -

In today's hectic life and it's social media climate, where you don't always have the time to sit down and read the paper properly but still have the time to scroll, and a lot of what the news feed feeds you is articles ("articles") that seem to just consist of screenshots of how people commented on something on twitter, I have come to appreciate a well written article even more than before, and the chance to get a moment to sit down and read something un-interrupted. Also, I should learn to...

I’m sitting on a bed in a hotelroom in Pilsen, Czech Republic. I’ve taken a very early airport taxi, flown to Prague via Amsterdam, taken a bus to Pilsen, tried to work on an article on a flight from Amsterdam to Prague which was rather difficult as the flight is very short, walked 16932 steps […]

Fog, mist, drowsy cafés. The crispy air of autumn and lazy sunrays trying to make it through the clouds. The sharp feeling of nothingness when memories of a time long gone hit through to the surface at the moment when the hand touches the wooden door. Yesterday I finally held a sword in that very same hand. Not a real one, yet a sword. It made me feel graceful, powerful. One day I will be dancing with a sword in my hand.

Volkswagen has won everything this year. Team has been simply unbelievable. Sebastien Ogier win the drivers championship, Julien Ingrassia win the co-drivers championship and Volkswagen Motorsport wins the manufacturers championship. Reasons for such a good success are many. I think … Lue loppuun →

I like to imagine different scenarios. I’m really good at the coulda shoulda woulda and I often plan possible scripts of conversations I know I need to have (face-to-face or, especially, on the phone). I like to “plan” beforehand so I can more easily think on my feet, in a way, even though the real […]

three years ago i was quite in tune with my inner bookworm judging from a little note i wrote about admiration . nevertheless, being the one-click addict that i am, my amazon shipments have lately included a couple of memoirs – literature i knew to steer clear of before. judging from how i feel right now, i probably should have kept on avoiding them. since i never really discuss books here, this may seem an odd way to start – although i am not promising any continuance – but here goes...

I have been repeatedly asked that what killed Nokia. I thought I'd better do the analysis now, when I still remember something about it. Tomi Ahonen writes exhaustively how incompetent formal Microsoft executive ruined it all , but I have to disagree with Ahonen that much, that there were also other reasons than just Elop. Accusations on the burning platform memo are valid, but Symbian had already been burning for years. It was like a fireplace that keeps the house warm, but must be watched...

I got the iPad about a week and a half ago and here are my early thoughts on the device. As the iPad will not be available in europe before the end or May, I bought one from eBay. I got the 16 gb wifi iPad for $750 with shipping (the seller made a good […]

As many of you know I was forced to grow in the last 3 years, I was forced to examine myself really closely and open each and every door I chose to keep shut because I was afraid. Each journey back to moments of love, happines, loneliness, confusion and emptiness brought with it new pains, from realising life isn´t as simple as one might think it when you´re 19 years old and high on the euphoria of being in love.Depression is for me the ugliest word of mankind it revolves around itself but...

OR: What do pop songs have to do with neuropsychology? Inspiration can come from strange sources. Some time ago, I was listening to a pop song I had heard many times before without paying that much attention to it. It is one of the less impressive tracks on an album by a well-known singer and though it is pleasant, the words grate me a tad and therefore I had mostly ignored them. The song is about how someone close to the singer/protagonist has died and how they now are in heaven watching over...
