kaupallinen yhteistyö: Ellos Muuttopakkausta tässä parhaillaan tehdessäni tuli todettua, että vaatekaapistani puuttuu ne täydelliset siniset farkut. Kevään kolkutellessa ovella tarve vaaleammalle farkkuparille tuntuu erityisen kovalta, nyt nimittäin todellakin tekisi mieli - Read more...

I was browsing through youtube and ended up listening to Natalia Imbruglia's new single 'Want'. I'm sorry, but it doesn't do anything for me. Not changing rythm, high pitched singing, and obvious attention whoring with showing half naked body doesn't cut it. She has changed her style to disco, which is not too surprising, most of the 90's acustic guitar fans have changed to synthesizers. Kids want rythm, easy listening, and they want to move! I don't think this is going to be the great hit of...

I've had inconsistent week. I've got sad news, but also good news. And own life is better than average. Anyway, our loved grandad - pappa Pauli passed away on Tuesday evening, alone in the hospital room in Mikkeli. He was old, 87 yrs, and had various old people's diseases. Though it wasn't predictable, somehow it's relieving - thank you Pappa for all the things in life. Tuesday was also my father's 55th birthday - that made the day even more inconsistent. I got congratulated my dad in late...

A journey to a healthier life. -

I've never, ever, ever have liked running. Never. In fact, I even remember my gym class teacher once telling me that I couldn't run. Like that was a hard fact that couldn't be changed. At least after then, I've never even tried jogging. This autumn I've taken a project to start living at least a little bit healthier. So, as a part of my project, I went walking (speed-walking, you might say) around two weeks ago, for the first time in an extremely long time. I didn't go alone, no, I had my iPod...

Pic Miika Karttunen My time in the Helsinki Roller Derby freshmeat training period is close to it's end. We had our last practice last Sunday and our coach and a derby ref Mick Dagger took a pic of our freshmeat group above. Can you find me? Nirvana will be the hint of the day. This week's Sunday is the doom day number one. We are all taking part to the minimum skills test which is something everyone has to pass in order to start practicing like a real roller derby girl. Tuesday is the doom day...

Grüezi! -

I have finally recovered from the farewell party on tuesday, I will never drink alcohol again. I don´t know how it ended like this, the evening itself was very funny! Well, I did not manage to go to work on wednesday, but since it was my optional week at the rheumatology and my job was to listen and watch, I suppose it wasn´t that terrible. So, now that I have recovered and emptied my room in Lucerne, I was able to plan some more and was at first thinking of going to Geneve, but the weather...

Tell them to let our people go To all: By now you’ve no doubt heard the news about Hillary’s people defining the about to take off Gaza flotilla as a “provacative act”! Could Obama be getting a bit nervous that he might have to take a stand? He may be nervous but not as much as the Israeli government that is throwing everything in the book at them to prevent them from even leaving the shores. Below is a partial dialogue from the State Dept. press conference where Matt Lee of the AP was...

Whole Lotta Love -

and slowly drifting towards wednesday. I feel down after my friend Eka left today to New-Zealand. Epa just went to Tallin which is closer than most of the finnish cities but Eka had to leave to another side of the world. Just when I got "home". Heh. That's how it goes. My shoes start to burn too and I still have two years of school left. My oh my. Then nothing keeps me here. Know what...I laughed this for an hour. Halleluja!

So, I said in one post that I'm gonna forget LJ and that kind of stuff.. Well.. I got more paid time like 5 minutes ago! :D Facebook and Twitter status updates aren't so good places to tell all my feelings because of limited space. So decided to give LJ new chance. So lets continue a bit what happened in Kuopio after the family reunion. Actually, nothing big happened. We just were. And later on the evening we went to fire place to grill some sausages. I ate only one though. But there was me...

If you want to put a candle in Second Life, there is a memorial stone in the Finnish Sauna Retreat area in the SL during this week.Info about sad Kauhajoki School Shooting:http://www.yle.fi/news/left/id102478.html

A 5K sunny afternoon walk. Tuesday 27.3. - 7K - 33 min - More "speed" or effort than usual. Steady state. Monday 26.3. Walking in the city of Helsinki some 1.5 hours. What a noisy milieu. (This post is dedicated to everyone who is STILL waiting for their ME2 CE a full week after it was released outside Europe, SetAsEssential among many sad others!) So I got my Mass Effect 2 Collectors' Edition from Tilt Game Store on Tuesday. After waiting in line in vain for almost 2 months, I had to cancel my preorder from Verkkokauppa.com (I'm NOT advertising them by giving a link). Instead, I accidentally found out that Tilt Game store had them in stock, so I just marched right in and got my...

Last time I wrote here I had 3 weeks of summer break left. Now I have 3 days! :D I was supposed to write here earlier, but.. Better late than never. So, about the weekend I told you about in the previous post. I went to the FFfin-meeting and because the weather was pretty nice, warm but bit cloudy and windy, we went to beach. We had pretty fun there. AND after many many many years, I went to swim!!! It was nice :) We were there for few hours and then I headed home and others headed to...

(Subject: Life in a new place......in a new language.) Oh dear oh dear.... ......friends. One night, not so long ago, I came home from a terrific party very late, happily drunk but with a notably clear mind, and I thought: Now I've done it. Now I know what it feels like... For for the first time in my whole long life and, especially for the first time during my long six weeks as a Berliner, I had spent the whole evening communicating with people, many different people, real GERMAN people, and I...

More than a year ago test knitters were asked on Ravelry to knit patterns for Neulekirja . On my birthday few months ago I...

Tuesday night gig came & went. Fun it was, as usual. Janne F who booked us for the gig (and about 20 other artists to a variety of bars and clubs that festival night) was there to listen to the first set. He happened to overhear a blond, seemingly enthusiastic lady complimenting our output as "the best Finnish music she has ever heard". Eh... We are grateful and humble to recieve this sort of appreciation, but if anybody knows the lady, would you kindly hint her, that Country and Westerinen...

Matkailua Kaakkois-Aasiassa -

Yes, that's right. I came back "home". I flew from Kuching (Sarawak, Borneo) back to Penang on Tuesday May 3rd. I spent one week in Kuching. I ate a lot of Roti Canai and Roti Telur (kind of bread with curry sauce, excellent taste). Then I visited a few natural parks: Kubah and Semenggoh. In Kubah I traveled in a jungle just by myself. I was alone there and followed a path that finally took me to a very nice waterfall. I bathed there and washed away all the spider nets that I had taken in the...
