Kenties terveysvaikutuksilla on perää. Ravintola keksi sekoittaa tuota mustaa materiaalia juustoon ja syntyi venom cheese (myrkkyjuusto)...

I ordered myself a vegan cookbook from the States, and it arrived on friday! I read a lot of cookbooks, mainly from the library. Even though I rarely cook the recipes on the books, I find reading them very inspiring. Often you get ideas from the books that can be variated as you like. Now I have my first own vegan book, Veganomicon by Isa Chandra Moskowitz. I have given it only a quick look, but seems nice! Though it lacks photos it is a good package full of information. We ate some feta-cheese...

This was my third burger with a journalist from Helsingin Sanomat. He's making a story about hamburgers and I was interviewed for the article while tasting several burgers. Morrison's Grill & Green is a small restaurant in downtown Helsinki. Back in the day this place was called Dick Tracy's Diner and they were know to be a quick and cheap lunch restaurant. Only the interior and name has changed, everything else seemed to be as it was. The menu is almost the same as it used to be and they still...

Truly Us -

Hi guys again, sorry for the break in blogging! For the last month I've been drowned by work and as if that wasn't enough I've been ill all the time. I decided to show you what's been going on in my life for the last month or two - well basically since I got my very first iPhone! I wanted the golden 5s, but I thought I needed a UK contract immediately so decided not to wait and instead get the black one. (But now I heard I could've waited for that golden one after all...) Anyway, hope you enjoy...

This was my fourth and last burger with a journalist from Helsingin Sanomat. He's making a story about hamburgers and I was interviewed for the article while tasting several burgers. In the 90's there were three big burger chains in Finland - McDonalds, Carrols and Hesburger. Two of these were original US based burger chains. You know the McDonals but also Carrols originally came to Finland as a franchise from the United States. Carrols Corporation was found in Syracusa NY, and during the 60's...

Wai and I had a nice weekend. Our time together is always nice though, so I am not stating the relatively obvious as if it was something extraordinary. We did something a bit different to our usual weekends by visiting Warwick Castle. We had a 2 for 1 voucher, so we decided to go crazy and cultural. The pass we bought included general admission to the castle and its surroundings, a guided tour at the dungeons and visit to the tower that is known for being a filming location for the BBC series...

The Jumalauta Food Review -

Last night was a feast. I cooked Kormacurry, fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce. Naan-bread with sesame oil, cumin flavored brown rice with fresh basil. For dessert salsa, cheese dip and nachos. We had a food orgy with good company and watched demolition man. A real girls night in. But yeah, instead of taking cool pictures, i forgot. So this could all be a lie and none of it ever happened. Instead there were some leftovers from the meal and i, as a smart girl, took to work for lunch. So...

A few days ago I was in Stockholm to attend Apple's Leopard Tech Talk. The talk was very interesting but unfortunately it is under NDA so I can't really tell you anything about the conference. But here's a small(?) reportage about the most important part of the trip: food. A proper trip to Stockholm begins always with an early and rich breakfast buffet on the ferry. The buffet was served at 5:30 a.m but I did not manage to get there before 6:00 a.m so I had about one hour to enjoy the servings...

The world's smartest pommidget talks Jewish treehouses, terrible tattoos and putting toddlers in the freezer On the way to see Joanna Angel get fucked in the ass on the set of her newest film, Joanna's Angels 2, I was accosted and searched by two policemen on a sidewalk in Brooklyn. They said they noticed something hooked to my pants pocket they believed was a knife. I laughed in their stupid cop faces and lifted my jacket to reveal I had two pens clipped to my pocket. "They're pens," I said...

I had a GREAT trip food wise. Pretty much EVERYTHING I ate was yummy! I had some food in my lunchbox and I most of the food as soon as I got to the ship. Btw, here’s my new lunchbox from Laptop Lunches . I ordered mine from Amazon. So far, I’m really liking it. Avocado burger without cheese, coleslaw and mayo. It’s also missing tomatoes and pickles, because I don’t like those. My wife doesn’t like avocado so I got hers! Nom! Wednesday I had some porridge and grapes for breakfast and...

This was my first burger with a journalist from Helsingin Sanomat. He's making a story about hamburgers and I was interviewed for the article while tasting several burgers. The Kämp was opened in 1887 and it was the first luxury hotel in Helsinki. It has seen the good and the worst days of Finland from two wars to independence. The Kämp restaurants were patronised by renowned politicians, artists, composers and writers. For example, composer Jean Sibelius, writer Eino Leino and painter Akseli...

So the worst is behind us. The boys heard the songs after Sami went wild on them. A no-holds-barred situation between Sarhamaa and the tunes had taken some of them a little far from the original idea, and not everything was agreed upon, but still no fist fights broke out and I think we will slowly but firmly achieve common ground. The one with the most issues is probably going to be one of the oldest tunes, called Retreat, there was some major clipping done to it, and the guys felt it lacked...

My breakfast nowadays is this tasty yoghurt-jam-nut mixture. Organic yoghurt, organic jam and nut compote. The nut compote contains of walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cashews and pistachios. It´s flavored with vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, chilli, sugar and rhum. Don´t worry, I´ve boiled away all the alcohol in the rhum to prevent having a shot first thing in the morning... Chocolate. What would life be without chocolate? Pretty boring IMO. The chocolates above are filled with prunes soaked in...

It is one of the best things when it becomes chillier in autumn - to make hot soups. I am hugely ffond with all kinds of pureed soups. Here are a few ones I made recently, which I liked really much! Really simple but good. Root vegetables are a Big Word. Red turnip-soup 1 large turnip 1 beetroot 1 small onion (or half big) salt & pepper Peel and slice the vegetables into a kettle, and pour water just enough to cover them. Let simmer under cover until soft. Puree with a blender and add salt and...

How do you enjoy your coffee/tea? Usually I drink tea - coffee is a speciality for me, and then it should be of good quality and well made. I prefer tea plainly as it is, in winter I tend to use honey, but not much and it must be solid (the running kind of honey seems to be sweeter). I'm up for everything except for black tea or cheap teabags. Green & herbal teas are good. Fruity teas not. When I drink coffee I usually take a cappuccino, or then coffee made in a pan (or a presso-pan) just plain...

I've been in Latvia (yep!) more exactly in Valmiera and Valka - beautiful village of Valka opened it's history slowly to me and I really fell in love with the athmosphere. During the last two weeks my lunches have mostly consisted of apples, porridge or bread with spread cheese and/or sardines. Besides the end of delicious free meals with loads of rice, oil and fish at work, the month of Ramadan in Senegal means that everything slows down when people are more tired due to fasting during daytime. August is one of the hottest months in the region of Thies where I am located, and this does not make fasting easy. Yesterday the rain cooled the temperature to a level...

Couple of days ago my friend pointed me a little grill kiosk which was supposed to serve excellent burgers. We needed to pick up a piece of countertop from Ikea and this little burger grill was located only one minute drive from Ikea. So after we got our countertop we stopped for burger at Hölmölä Burger Grill. The place looked like a typical Finnish grill kiosk. It also seemed to be a trucker paradise since it's located near a highway crossing and four trucks were parked by the road. In a...

Niin mikä tässä nyt sitten on uutta ja mikä on vanhaa? Kehrääminen on vanha rakkaus, tosin vanhalla isomummon rukilla se oli alituista taistelua katkeavan langan ja ylikierteen välillä. Uusi rakkaus on kuvassa: Kromski Mazurka. Mazurkalla kehrääminen on kokonaan toinen maailma, ihanan...

"In Bhutan, chilli is not a spice. It is a vegetable." These were some of the wise words I was told during the flash introduction to culture, security and practical issues in Bhutan by the UN security officer during my first week. Since then, I have been asked the question "how are you coping with the food here?" in a worried tone, as not everyone is as fond of chillies in every single dish as the Bhutanese are. I'm not a great fan of big cities; small places tend to have more character - and are also better for day-trips. England in particular is full of little gems that most tourists tend to overlook. Nantwich, for example. The town certainly isn't the most happening place in the world - when I went there, it was a market day, and the high street was full of old ladies. This, however, only added to the olde-worlde charm of the place. The town musem, on the other hand, was full of noisy...

Is your life dull? Do you feel that something more should be happening to you? Like this: On a good day In the morning you have quick yet fantastic morning sex with your gorgeous husband.
